Distributed optical fiber sensors based on Brillouin scattering can realize simultaneous temperature and strain sensing. But the cross sensitivity limits the practice of simultaneous sensing. In this paper, we introduce the present methods for solving the cross sensitivity that have been reported. We compare and analyse these different methods, finally discuss the development prospect.
